Frequently asked questions

Will this work on my phone?

You need an eSIM-compatible phone that is unlocked for use with other carriers. Support can vary by model and where you bought it. Check for Add eSIM in your phone’s settings and confirm that your carrier has unlocked it before buying.

Can I keep my usual phone number?

Yes. The travel eSIM does not replace your number. On a compatible dual-SIM phone, keep your home line enabled for calls and texts and select the travel eSIM for mobile data. Turn off data roaming on your home line and automatic data switching. Your home carrier’s call and text charges still apply.

When should I install my eSIM?

Install it on reliable Wi-Fi before you travel, following the instructions in My eSIMs. Keep the travel eSIM turned off until you need it, especially if your home country is covered by the plan. Leave your usual SIM in place.

Will my plan renew automatically?

No. You buy a fixed data plan, with no subscription or automatic renewal. Extra data is a separate purchase you choose. When your allowance or validity ends, we don’t charge you for another plan.

How does the free eSIM offer work?

Choose a starter offer for your destination and add a qualifying paid travel plan. Sign in with a verified account and complete payment; your starter eSIM is included at $0. One per account across all destinations, including previous claims. Each eSIM has its own data and validity. Availability varies by destination.

What happens if my eSIM doesn’t work?

Open your eSIM in My eSIMs and choose Get help, or email support@getshrimptoast.com directly. Keep the eSIM installed while troubleshooting. Before expiry, eligible self-service refunds use verified usage. If usage cannot be verified or you report that service never worked, email us for review. Free plans have no cash refund value; paid additions follow our refund policy.
